Dementia

Dementia is a word used to describe a set of symptoms that often includes:

Dementia happens after the brain has been damaged by a disease, such as Alzheimer's or a series of strokes.

  • Safety at all times
  • Respect and dignity when providing personal care

  • Communal areas promoting social interaction
  • Reminiscence therapy, encouraging positive reflection and nostalgia
  • A garden to enjoy the flowers and local wildlife
"Caroline House is a very friendly home and if ever there is something I wish to discuss, there is always someone there to talk to. I go there to visit my mother, but it is always nice to be able to have a chat to all the lovely staff, manager, carers, activities ladies etc. There is a great atmosphere. My mother is very happy there, she says she couldn't be looked after better, and loves being waited on. She eats well, as there is such a good choice of food, all in all it is a very good rest home."
